I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Former twice world boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather criticized ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary confrontation, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
